1st Hatch End

1st Hatch End

Welcome to 1st Hatch End Scout Group

Our Group is situated in the village of Hatch End in the London Borough of Harrow, which is at the edge of the Green Belt in the suburbs of North West London. We are a thriving Group originally founded in October 1922 – one of the oldest Scout Groups in the area, and are part of Harrow District.

We have a Beaver Colony for young people between the ages of 6 and 8 years, a Cub Pack for those aged from 8 to 10 ½ years, a Scout Troop for those aged 10 ½ to 14 years, and an Explorer Unit to cater for our older Scouts over 14. All Sections are open to both boys and girls and we have a team of enthusiastic Leaders, Young Leaders and numerous helpers to guide them.

We provide a full range of activities for the young members of the Group and have a long tradition of commitment to the youth in our community – helping our youngsters strive to new heights, experience new challenges and most importantly, to have fun! Scouting is all about meeting new people, making new friends and learning skills for life.

The Sections meeting are held weekly during school term time:

  • Beavers (age 6-8) – Thursdays 6.15 – 7.15pm
  • Cubs (age 8-10) – Wednesdays 6.30 – 8.00pm
  • Scouts (age 10-14) – Fridays 7.15 – 9.00pm
  • Explorers (Gravity) (age 14-18) – Fridays 7.30 – 9.30pm

We have a long waiting list for all Sections. If your child is interested in joining, you will be required to commit to help with some part of the running of the Group. Scouting is a voluntary organisation and only exists because of the commitment of the Leaders, parent helpers and Executive Committee. We need parental involvement and are always looking for new members to join our team. If you would like to get involved please contact us. All Leaders’ children automatically get a place.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
