A A “Charlie” King 26 01 1934 – 14 07 2024
“Charlie” sadly passed away on 14th July after a period of declining heath. A great supporter of Scouting, wild birds and steam railways.
He was a Vice President of Harrow Scout District and will be remembered for the various roles he held in that District including time as the lead volunteer (District Commissioner). In 1999 he received the Silver Wolf and in 2022 the 70 year award.
Many former Venture Scouts will remember him as Assistant County lead for that section and the many expeditions, including two to Holland, which he led.
The funeral, a celebration of his life, will take place on Wednesday 14th August at 11.30 hours at Breakspear Crematorium, East Chapel, Breakspear Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 7SJ, the wearing of Scout uniform is encouraged. The family invite you to refreshments afterwards at The Clubhouse, Middlesex Stadium, 3 Breakspear Road HA4 7SB, very close to the Crematorium, where there will be an opportunity to reminisce.
